Blogging To The Bank Myth
Blogging to the bank was a topic that caught my attention some years ago and lead me to start an Internet Marketing Product Reviews Blog. Some years ago, i read an article that teaches about financial freedom.
Though the term is vague, i understood it to mean a stage of life where i don’t have to work to earn money. It sounds good and very appealing to any aspiring person who wants to make life comfortable.
Yes, i failed for it. I thought i will be ultimately financially free and never have to work to earn money. The easiest road to take me to this la-la land “Financial Freedom” was suggested to be a starting an online business, like blogging. Starting a business that yields profit in the long run is a very good plan. So, i thought i will start an online business that i enjoy to do.
Starting a brick and mortar business is always difficult. I am not saying it is impossible, but has its own features that make it hard to achieve. One of the main challenges all new entrepreneurs face is a start up cost. Even the smallest business will need huge amount of investment to start it. I am just an employee, working hard to earn and pay the bills. Life will not give me any break. Is there any business that i can start with little investment? I mean as little as few hundred dollars?
Anyone can start blogging with little expense
The fact is yes, there is. I can start an online business that will in the long run give me the return on investment. Did i start an online business? Oh yes! Right away.
Of all the business models that are out there, i failed for blogging. I loved the idea that i will have a platform to publish content and drive traffic, free search engine traffic, that will get me the buyers. There was a very long learning curve. I have to learn how to register a domain name, host it on a web-hosting provider, install my WordPress blog and start to publish content following the search engine optimization techniques.
I have repeatedly heard that some successful bloggers have reached to an income level that most bloggers would never imagine. Well, those successful bloggers may have reached “Financial Freedom”, but as of me it looks like a dream that will never come true. Once you get into this vulnerable place in your search for financial freedom venture, you will be a target for every internet marketing guru out there. You will be distracted by every email in your inbox, thinking that you should follow another plan or system.
Blogging is such a good tool
I don’t want to discourage you from perusing your dream though. Blogging is such a good tool to get you free traffic from the search engines. The problem is, we are in the worst “Attention Deficient” period in history. Most of your blog visitors will have few seconds to decide if what they want is found in your blog. They click in, give your content a bird’s eye view, they can’t find what they want, they click out. Very hard to get anyone’s attention, though you have the perfect content on your blog. If you want to get some result on getting the attention, do the following;
- Target few keywords on your post
- Make your post clear, easy to read, clutter free.
- Make the most important content at the very beginning
- Design a way to get them subscribe before they leave
- Lure them with your free gifts
These are just few things that you can apply on your blog. If you keep on increasing the rank and popularity of your blog, your income will as well increase. The income can come from different monetization techniques you can apply. Let us forget about getting six or seven figures through the blogging venture and start to have a sensible plan. Aim at increasing your blog’s popularity through a high quality SEO service out there.
Finally, want to give you a piece of advice. As long as you don’t quite, there is a possibility that you will reach your goal. Never quit!
